This course introduces students to the objectives, concepts and strategies of Curriculum development as they relate to the teaching and learning of visual Arts. The various theoretical and philosophical bases for determining the process, implementation, innovation and evaluation of art curriculum will be discussed. They will also be guided to make comparative analysis of various art syllabuses from pre-school to secondary level from different countries and review them to reflect contemporary trends. It will be delivered through lectures, class discussions and field research, seminars and individual and group assignments. The approaches that would be used in the delivery of this course would prepare trainees to ensure the learning progress of all students by projecting gender roles and issues relating to equity and inclusivity.
