Even though technical skills are very important in the training and professional practice of art educators, knowledge and understanding of
theories and principles of aesthetics, appreciation and criticism will help deepen the understanding of the trainee teachers so that they can
guide their students to appreciate the qualities of their artistic creations and other peoples works from classical and contemporary
approach. This form of aesthetic appreciation and art criticism is linked to a person’s knowledge and appreciations of art and design
history, aesthetic theories and experiential art.
