The previous lesson exposed student teachers to the cognitive and physical characteristics of childhood through to adolescence. In this lesson, COGNITIVE development from early childhood through to early adolescence will be considered. Specifically, the lesson will discuss Jean Piaget’s cognitive development and their implications for teaching and learning across the specialisms in the B.Ed. curriculum. Misconceptions associated with this domain across the three developmental stages shall be explored.
